The EASS Saturday Centre opened in January 2003 and provides a wide range of music opportunities for children who live and/or attend school in the London Borough of Enfield. Guided by our team of specialist music tutors, pupils develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of music in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Children having instrumental lessons are encouraged to attend the activity sessions on offer at the Saturday Centre, as appropriate. EASS will endeavour to timetable instrumental lessons around the activity sessions.
Instrumental lessons are subject to available tutors, accommodation, hire instruments (where applicable) and viable groupings.
Saturday
Music Club:
9.15am - 10.00am School Year 1 & 2
This club is for key stage 1 pupils are led by a primary school specialist. Pupils listen, sing and play percussion instruments (e.g. tambourines, xylophones) and move to music. The Music Club is an excellent foundation for learning to play an instrument later on.
Saturday Keyboard Club:
Keyboard Club 1 - 9.15am - 10.15am
Keyboard Club 2 -11.30am - 12.30pm
For pupils who have had a minimum of 2 terms of keyboard lessons up to Grade 2.
Pupils will learn a variety of music and perform together as a group. Pupils must bring their own electronic keyboard with batteries.
Saturday
Strings: 9.10-10.10am
A mixed string ensemble for pupils who are learning violin, viola, 'cello and double bass. The group is open to pupils who have had a minimum of 2 terms tuition. Saturday Strings is led by strings specialist tutors and the ensemble plays a variety of music, both classical and popular.
Saturday Singers: 10.20am - 11.20am
Choir for primary school pupils in school years 3 to 6. Fun sessions which will develop children's vocal skills. They will sing songs in a wide variety of styles including pop, jazz, musicals, folk songs from around the world, songs in parts and much more.....!
Music Theory Classes groups at 10.20am and 12.00pm
For beginner and intermediate level which will lead to Associated Board for the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) examinations. Please contact the EASS office to register.
Saturday Music Centre activity groups have opportunities to perform to an audience of family and friends at the end of each term. These concerts often also include solos by Saturday Centre pupils who are having individual instrumental lessons.
Termly Membership Fees (valid from Autumn Term 2009-Summer Term 2010)
The fee per activity session is £34.00
Maximum fee for two or more activity sessions is £68.00
Concessions may be given at the discretion of EASS. Applications should be sent in writing to EASS and each case will be considered on an individual basis.
