Instrumental Tuition - both in schools at the Saturday Centre and John Jackson Library (Bush Hill Park)

The following is the scale of fees for 9 lessons to be given in the Spring Term 2012. (The number of instrumental lessons given each term will vary between 8 and 11 depending on the length of the term. A renewal form sent to you each term will indicate the number of lessons to be given and the fee adjusted accordingly).

A £10.00 EXTRA FEE IS PAYABLE FOR LESSONS OUTSIDE SCHOOL IN THE EVENINGS AND ON SATURDAYS.

Free Taster Lessons

Subject to available funding EASS is able to offer one term of free group lessons, paired lessons or 20 minute individual lessons to pupils wishing to learn certain minority instruments. The current £28.00 instrumental hire fee (Spring Term 2012) will be payable.(Pupils will be accepted for one course of free taster lessons on one instrument only)

Free taster lessons are currently available on:- all brass instruments, oboe, bassoon, mini-bassoon, viola, 'cello, double bass.


Triangle Trust Bursary

Pupils from families who receive Working Tax Credit are eligible to apply for a bursary for a 50% discount on tuition fees. This applies to new starters in primary schools only who wish to learn instruments which are not included in the 'free taster lessons' category. The application will need to be supported by the pupil's school. (Pupils who have already received lessons on the same instrument through a wider opportunities whole class instrumental programme are not eligible for Triangle Trust funding.)

Free/Subsidised Instrumental Tuition

If you are applying for free or subsidised tuition you must attach your Free School Meals award letter if dated in the last 3 months, or attach up-to-date proof of benefit you receive, ie, Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based), State Pension Credit (Guaranteed Credit), Employment and Support Allowance (Income Related), Child Tax Credit and an annual gross income as assessed by HMRC which does not exceed £16,190.00.

Proof should be a letter from Job Centre Plus or a copy of a recent bank statement with your name and address showing the benefit you are receiving, or pages 1-4 of your Child Tax Credit Award letter from HMRC for the current financial year. You will be required to send this proof each term you re-register for lessons.

Pupils in Local Authority Care [Looked-after Children] will be granted free tuition and free instrument hire.

Instrument Hire

The current hire fee is £28.00 per term (correct as at Spring Term 2012). EASS hires most instruments but does not hire Keyboards, Pianos, Recorders, Acoustic or Electric Guitar, Percussion/Drum Kits.


After-School Activities

There is a termly membership subscription for each activity, details below (from Autumn Term 2011). However, our policy is that no pupil should be excluded from joining for financial reasons. Applications for concessions should be sent in writing and each case will be considered individually at the discretion of the EASS Management Team.

Beginner Strings, Intermediate Strings, Junior Band, Guitar Group, Steel Pan Groups, Music Theory, Edmonton Young Singers, Enfield Youth Choir - £36.00

Concert Band, Concert Orchestra - £50.00

EYSO, EYWB - £60.00


Saturday Centre Activities

Adult Gospel - Enfield Goes Gospel Choir

The Membership Subscription for Enfield Goes Gospel adult choir is currently £77.00 for Autumn Term 2011.
